Everybody needs purpose in life. We all need something to live for. We all need someone to receive love from and to give love to. Have you considered what your purpose is? Does it include the God who gave you life?
In Luke 12:7 we read the line spoken by Jesus, “Why even the hairs on your head are numbered”. The context of the verse shows us that God places great value on our lives so that he even keeps track of tiny details about us, such as the number of hairs on our heads.
Whatever difficulties you go through in life God is aware, and He keeps track of when even a hair on your head is harmed.
God didn’t stay silent in the face of a world of hurting people. God sent His Son Jesus, to save and transform those who would freely choose to follow Him.
Since the dawn of mankind men and women have rejected God. We have rejected His goodness, we have turned away from His commands (see Exodus chapter 20 for the Ten commandments). To hold yourself and others to the moral requirements of God’s laws will often result in accusations of legalism, and of having a mean spirit.
Yet Jesus Himself says “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” (John 14:15)
Jesus is the one who says, “if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. For it is better that you lose one of your members than that your whole body go into hell.” (Matthew 5:30)
Jesus and the apostles clearly teach that the only way to be saved from our sins is through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross. We must repent, having a change of heart and mind and turn to God so that we may be forgiven of all of our sin. Even when we repent we remember, we aren’t saved from our sins and spared from judgment due to our repentance itself, but we are saved by the sacrifice of Jesus, who died for us on the cross so we wouldn’t have to spend eternity in Hell.
We also believe that when we repent and are saved from our sins, that isn’t the end of the story, but only the beginning of our transformation into the image of Christ.
Are you sick and in need of healing? Are you stuck in some entangling sin that is keeping you bound? Are you depressed? Is there some dark thought that keeps stealing your joy? Do you need to be delivered from evil spirits?
The most important thing you can do is repent of your sins and turn to Jesus right now! Tomorrow is not promised and we need His salvation. Once you have done that, salvation is only the beginning. Start seeking Jesus right away for transformation.
